1. Introduction

Preachly is a Christian faith-based application that uses artificial intelligence to help users explore Scripture, understand Christian perspectives, and express their beliefs with clarity and confidence. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you use our application, website, and related services.

2. Scope

This policy applies to personal information processed in connection with Preachly's mobile application, website, account services, AI-powered features, subscriptions, and support communications.

3. Eligibility and Children's Privacy

Preachly is intended for individuals aged 13 and older. Users aged 13–17 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to maintain accounts. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child under 13, we will take appropriate steps to delete it, subject to applicable law.

Questions about religion, personal beliefs, relationships, or difficult life experiences may contain sensitive personal information. We process content you voluntarily submit to provide the features you request. Please avoid submitting information that is unnecessary for your question, particularly confidential information about other individuals.

7. Artificial Intelligence and OpenAI

When you submit a question or use an AI-powered feature, Preachly may send your question, relevant conversation context, and selected personalization information to OpenAI through its API to generate a response.

OpenAI's API data-use policies generally provide that submitted API data is not used to train models by default unless the customer expressly opts in, subject to applicable service terms and exceptions. API providers may retain or process certain information for security, abuse prevention, or other permitted purposes.

We do not sell your conversations to AI providers. You should not assume that information submitted to an AI feature is confidential in the same way as a legally privileged conversation.

8. Authentication and Account Security

Preachly may support authentication through email credentials or supported third-party sign-in providers. Authentication-related information is processed as necessary to verify identity, manage sessions, and protect accounts. We recommend keeping your credentials secure and notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access.

9. Subscriptions and Payment Information

iOS subscriptions are purchased and billed through Apple's App Store. RevenueCat assists with subscription entitlement verification and management. We receive subscription-related information necessary to determine access to premium features, but do not receive or store full payment-card numbers for App Store transactions.

Deleting your Preachly account does not cancel an active Apple subscription. You must manage or cancel your subscription separately through your Apple Account settings.

We use third-party services to operate Preachly, which may include:

We do not sell users' personal information or private conversations. Preachly is a subscription-based service and does not use submitted faith-related conversations for third-party behavioural advertising.

Information may be stored or processed in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those jurisdictions may differ from those in your location, and information may be accessible to authorities under applicable law.

We use reasonable contractual, organizational, and technical measures appropriate to the information and services involved.

We generally retain account information and associated application records while your account remains active or for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services. Certain records may be deleted earlier through application features.

Following account deletion, associated records are removed from our primary application database through the account-deletion process. Limited information may remain temporarily in backups, security logs, third-party systems, or records retained for legitimate legal or compliance purposes.

Retention periods may vary depending on the category of information and applicable requirements. We do not promise immediate deletion from every backup or independent third-party system.

14. Account Deletion

You may request permanent deletion of your account through the application's Settings. The deletion process removes your account and associated application records from the primary database, including linked conversations, preferences, and engagement records, subject to applicable retention exceptions.

Important: Account deletion does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel through Apple's subscription settings to prevent future renewals.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, seek correction of inaccurate information, ask questions about our privacy practices, or request deletion of eligible information.

You may adjust supported personalization settings, manage device notification permissions, or discontinue use of the Services. You can manage push-notification permissions through your device settings and available application controls. Marketing communications, where offered, are subject to applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements.
